BabyCakes Cards

Using up scraps from the BabyCakes paper pack to make cards for friend Debbie's walk/run in April. I made three different projects with the paper pack and 18 cards to go in Debbie's box that will be raffled off.

November Tag Winner

I was one of the lucky winners in Tim's 12 Tags of 2013 for November. Yesterday I recieved a beautifully wrapped package from Mario. So pretty, I almost didn't want to open it. But I did anyway! I saved all of the wrapping and tissue tape that he used to keep it together so I can re-use it!

I got the Seasons Silhouette stamp set and the Christmastime Remnant Rubs. Can't wait to create something with both!!

December 12 Tags of 2013

Winding down 2013 with the final tag of the year. Tim's got a great tutorial using Wendy Vecchi's Clearly For Art Modeling Film. I had never used it so this was a great opportunity for me to try it. I don't have the poinsettia Sizzix die, so I used my Tattered Flowers die and improvised. I rather like how it turned out! I hope you do too!

Thanksgiving

Well hello there! Bet you thought I got lost or something! Had a few computer issues and some family stuff going on, so I'm sorry about my lack of postings. We will take care of that today with not one but TWO posts in the same day.

First up, a recap of our Thanksgiving festivities. Both of my sisters and their families joined us for a day of too much food and lots of fun. This is a picture heavy post, so lets get at it!

Appetizer table. Too bad everyone hated the deviled eggs!
 Foods on...lets eat!
View from the other end of the table.
 Jacob loves him some gravy!
Jacob also went "fishing" in our pond with the brand new ballcap I gave him when he got here and caught one of the crawfish that lives in the pond. Mean 'ol Aunt Sue made him put it back!!
Brother-in-law Bruce, John, Favorite Only Niece Joy and her dad John.
The Three Sisters. Janice, me, Kathy.
Miss Joy sitting on the little stool my father in law built as his high school graduation project.
Centerpiece for the holiday table I made with the burlap flowers I am crazy about making right now!

12 Tags of 2013-November

Time once again for Tim's November 2013 Tag of the Month. This was one of the two that I was waiting on my online order to arrive so I could complete my CC102 class tags, so this one is doing double duty!

I did the tag just as Tim describes in his tutorial, the only difference being I don't have any of the Sizzix Framelets stamp/die sets. So I just used the Autumn Blueprints stamp set instead and fussy-cut the leaf image to layer it. I have also become obsessed with making fabric flowers, so I had to use some of Tim's wonderful fabric line and make a flower to go on my tag.

Playing catch-up

Trying to get caught up on projects. Right now I have three going. I work on one til I get too much "wet" and then move to another. I have even set up another table in my scrap room to hold the wet stuff while it's drying. Some I will be able to share as I get it complete and some notsomuch as they are for Christmas gifts.

Here is a couple that I CAN share. My nail gal over over 10 years will be welcoming her second grandchild the middle of February 2014. I'm already betting on a Valentines Day girl! They know it's a girl to go with their soon to be 3 year old son and her name will be Melanie. So of course I had to do one of Sue's World Famous Name Wall Hangings for her room! CTMH has the cutest "baby" paper pack in the Fall/Winter Idea Book called BabyCakes, so that is what I used along with the Canvas Compliments that go with the paper pack.

A fellow CTMH Consultant who used the paper pack for her contribution to this summer's Convention used our 3 x 3 blocks to make "alphabet blocks" which were displayed in the Art Room. I took her idea and made it my own, using more of the Canvas Compliments and other stamp sets that I have accumulated over the years. What is hard to see in the pics is the Glossy Accents and Viva Iridescent German Glitter tht I used on the side with the birds and the side with the bee, dragonfly and ladybug.

Tablet Cover

John and I each have an Android Tablet. Apparently if you buy Andriod, you are only allowed ONE type of cover. Black, black or black. Same style made by the same company and the salespeople tell us there are no further choices coming in the forseeable future. So we were always getting our tablets confused. I'd pick up his, he'd pick up mine. You get the idea. What's a girl to do? I thought about blinging mine out, but I'm not a huge bling fan. Plus, how do you make it "stick?!"

Tim Holtz to the rescue! He introduced a new fabric line at Summer CHA and it recently shipped. The fabrics are based on his paper lines with clocks and gears and measurements and travel. You get the idea. Once Whim So Doodle announced they had the fabric in stock, I had to go get me some. I got 6 different patterns and my first order of business was to "Holtz-ify" me a tablet cover. I did a simple quilt square pattern with the raw edges to the outside. I wanted it to have some texture and interest. I am very pleased with how it turned out. I added a few buttons here and there for a little added interest.
