Happiness

Michelle's got a multi-layer card this week atCardPatterns.

Since I've got some of the CTMH Miracle paper pack left, I decided to use some of it for this challenge. The butterfly and leaves are from the Irresistables that came with this promo pack and are inked in Crystal Blue and Garden Green. Sentiment is from State of Mind stamp set.

Fishy Thank You

Working on building up my stash of Thank You cards. Using this weeks sketch at http://www.cardpositioningsystems.blogspot.com/, this card makes me smile!

I used an old CTMH paper pack, Lazy Days of Summer and an oldie but goodie stamp set, Funky Fish, along with the Solo T Alpha set. The fish are all pop-dotted for dimension as is the sentiment. All have Diamond Stickles for a bit of bling. And you just gotta love those googlie eyes on the fish!

Baby gift

Made yet another accordion album. This one's for my nail gal for all the pics of her new grandson that I know will be takenand it's a 6 x 6 size. Using the CTMH May promotional paper pack called Miracle. I again used CTMH sister Vicki's guide and "Sue'd" it up to make it my own!

Happy Day

Michelle's got another cute sketch this week at CardPatterns.

I'm needing some Thank You cards, so I thought this would be the perfect opportunity for me to ink up a couple of new stamp sets! I used CTMH Cherry-O paper pack, along with Fruitful Delight and Bowl of Cherries stamp sets. The main image is from FD and the cherries in the corners and sentiment are from BoC. All of the cherries have a bit of Tutti Fruti Stickles and are pop-dotted for dimension. I used my Threading Water punch on the Sweer Lead cardstock, along with a bit of white Ric Rac.

Fun day

I don't know who this kid is, but he was having a great time dancing! The crowd gave him LOTS of encouragement.

Jake and his fiddler crabs. This kid is gonna be Noah when he grows up! AND! He goes to Middle School next year. I don't know when he got so old!!

I don't remember if I've ever shared some of the glory of my misspent youth! When I was in my late teens, early twentys, I was somewhat of a local band "groupie." Snake Eye was 4 great guys who sang a bit of country and a bit of rock and roll. I originally met Max, the lead singer thru a friend at an auto parts store my cousin was working at. Max invited me and whoever else wanted to come to listen to his band "one night." The rest, as they say, is history. Kathy and I and various friends followed the guys all over hell and most of Georgia! For quite a number of years. Jan used to come see them with mom and dad even! Kathy went with the bass player for a while. Then things happened, as they do in bands, and the guys broke up. One night, more than a few years later, Kathy and Bruce are out to dinner. Kathy is heading for the ladies room and hears this familiar voice singing in the bar area. She pops her head in and lo and behold, it's MAX! He's now a one man band! He plays virtually every instrument known to man and then some, so he lays down tracks at home, then plays it back and plays lead guitar and sings live at different bars in the area. So we've once again become Max groupies, tho not as bad as we were back then! We've now introduced the kids to Max and when he plays at "family friendly" places, they come along. Yesterday afternoon was one of those days. Max was at Miss Vicki's on the River. A funky little joint right on the Anclote River in beautiful Tarpon Springs. Open-air, so you can smell the salt coming in from the Gulf of Mexico (which thankfuly has no tar balls from the Gulf oil spill). Just sit and relax and listen to Max. Such a fun afternoon. And since I just moved to Florida 10 minutes, ago, you know who is sunburnt! My arms and shoulders and face are beet red. You'd think someday I'd learn. Or not! John wasn't supposed to be able to make it, but ended up showing up about 15 minutes before Max finished his last set. That was a nice surprise. Kathy and Bruce were there, as well and Jan, Jake and Joy. K&B's friends Janice and Paula from Scouts showed up as well. We had a few beers, some awesome dry-rub wings, cold you-peel-em shrimp, cuban sandwiches, onion rings. Great food. Great music. Great time!

Sweet Baby Boy

After seeing CTMH sister Vicki's take on our Accordion album on the CTMH Consultant bb's, I decided I had to make one for my nail gal's daughter! I took some liberties with what Vicki created, making the album uniquely mine. I used lots of schtuff on this one! CTMH Splendor paper pack, Heavenly Blue Ribbon Rounds, White Daisy Grosgrain and ric rac ribbon, Sassy Strands, Rub-Ons Love Letters, White Daisy Mini Medley, White Daisy My Accents, Irresistables Pizzaz, EK Success Punch, Sugared Brads, t!m Holtz dies, Grunge Board, Distress Ink and Distress Crackle Paint. Stamp sets used are Posterboard Alpha, Whimsy Alpha, Solo S Alpha, Journaling Jots, Summer Wishes and Love You Forever.

In my next life, I'd like to come back as a cat. Owned by me. (Or maybe Jeanne and the 9TS!) Such a hard life these two lead.

Nana's Brag Book

I found out earlier this week that my nail girl is going to become a first time Nana later this year. Of course she needs a Brag Book to put pictures of the new grandson in! I used a CTMH My Creations album and Veranda paper pack along with various embellies from my stash.

My new favorite appliance

We bought a new refrigerator. The old one was 15+ years old. It came with the house. It was time to retire it to the garage and put the one that was in the garage that we got from Grumpz and Groovy 100 years ago to it's final rest. The model we ended up with was a return. The guy who special ordered it measured wrong and it wouldn't fit in his space. So we got a GREAT deal on it. And it just barely fit in ours! The delivery guys ended up having to put straps on it and LIFT that heavy bugger over our kitchen counter/breakfast bar area because it was too wide to fit thru. We gave them a nice tip, plus a drink to take with them and a Good Humor Nutty Buddy bar besides for their troubles.

I just have to see if I can program the door to fold my laundry! If I can do that, I'd be set for life!!

Rockin Birthday

Hard to believe but Favorite Oldest Nephew Kyle will be twenty on Sunday! I swear I am not 20 years older than I was when he was born!! We are meeting he, Kathy and Bruce for pizza dinner tonight so we can give him the Eagle Project album that I did earlier and shared pics of. But I had to have a card to give him too!

So I looked to http://www.cardpositioningsystems.blogspot.com/ for a layout pattern. I used CTMH You Rock paper pack, along with one of the Top Coats that coordinate so well with this pp. Stamp sets are Birthday Blocks and Happy Birthday. Each of the blocks has a bit of Stickles and/or Distress Stickles for that added bling! The chipboard is also CTMH. String is Martha Stewart.

Perfection. Squared.

It happened again. The Tampa Bay Rays have a new claim to fame. They now hold the destinction of being the only team in the history of baseball to be on the losing end of a Perfect Game in the span of less than 10 months. We now have the notation of being the losing team on the 18th AND 19th Perfect Games in major league history thrown against them. First time was July 23, 2009 against Mark Buehrle and the Chicago White Sox. Perfect Game. No runs, no hits, nobody on base. Then yesterday, May 9, 2010 it happened again. Against Dallas Braden and the Oakland A's. Perfect Game. No runs, no hits, nobody on base. And this game came 42 years and one day after Catfish Hunter pitched his perfect game for the A's. This was a special game. Dallas Braden lost his mom to cancer when he was in high school. His Grandmother raised him and she was in the stands to see this historic game. They had a few minutes together at the end of the game and you could see and feel the emotions going between the two of them. You hate to see your team lose, but there are just some days when you almost have to root for the other guys. Sunday was one of those days.

Party On!

Great sketch with lots of layers from Michelle at CardPatterns this week!

I needed a masculine birthday card, so I pulled out the new CTMH Passages paper pack. I double stamped the cupcake and cut out the bottom layer and pop dotted it for dimension. The "icing" has Lime Green Stickles for a bit of bling. The bracket edge along the left side is a new
t!m Holtz Sizzix die cut. You CAN use them in your Cuttlebug! Use a "B" plate, then the die face up, your cardstock or paper, another "B" plate and run it thru the Bug. The chipboard ribbon slide and Coca ribbon are both CTMH as well.

Some relief

Finally. After years of fighting pain in the upper left side of my mouth, and most especially the past 7 months of torturous hell, I am finally pain free. The root canal is done in the bothersone tooth 14 and my permanent crown is now firmly affixed. I am no longer having to curl my tongue around my teeth so as not to allow anything. Anything. Hot. Cold. Liquid. Solid. Air. Anything to touch that tooth. I can eat and drink at will and my tongue is now happy dancing willy nilly! Such a feeling of freedom. You cannot imagine! Life is once again good. Until July when I get to schedule the next bone reconstructive surgery for the upper right side of my mouth! But til then................

Laugh out loud funny

Anita Renfroe was our headline entertainer at CTMH Convention in '08. She will be making an encore appearance at Convention '10 in July. She is truly laugh out loud funny. She has her own website, www.anitarenfroe.com and on there you can find a listing of her upcoming dates. If she comes anywhere near where you are, you would do yourself a disservice if you didn't go see her. I guarantee your sides will hurt! Here's a link to a few of her YouTube video's. Love the one about Big Ol' Sweet Ice Tea and Wrinkles! Not that I have any of those! Just sayin!
